What kind of engagement ring do you have

By “the one” I mean the ring; I had already found Mr. Eel. Even before getting engaged or even thinking about being engaged, I already knew the ring I wanted. I had seen the Tacori key ad in magazines and instantly fell in love. Prior to seeing that ad I had never even thought about engagement ring styles, so I surprised myself even when this ring jumped out at me. When I looked at other engagement-ring styles, nothing came close to my love for this particular Tacori ring (top ring in the ad below). From the very beginning, Mr. Eel said he wanted me to be 100% happy with whatever ring we chose because a.) I would be the one wearing it forever and b.) he knows I am extremely picky (an unfortunate fatal flaw).

So when?Mr. Eel?and I started looking for a ring, I already knew what I wanted,30??20, and it made the process a lot easier.

We went to see The Diamond Specialist, as they came highly recommended by many engaged and married?friends before us. Russell, our consultant, spent a good 45 minutes with us during our first appointment going through the four Cs of diamonds, and we walked away feeling confident and empowered as buyers. He also gave us some tips about how we could get what we wanted while staying within our budget.

The first “tip” was deciding which of the four Cs we would be comfortable sacrificing in order to stay within budget. He put diamonds of different colors side by side and asked us to rank them on the color scale from colorless to faint color. We both got it completely wrong! This indicated that we aren’t sensitive to color and we could possibly get a diamond with a little more color to save on price.

Color ranges from D (colorless)?to M (faint color)

The other thing we learned is that cut is the most important of the four Cs. This determines the diamond’s brilliance and how it reacts to light, which is why Russell always recommends a diamond with a GIA Super Ideal Cut. This means it was cut to proportions that will create more fire,手机开奖现场开奖结果, light return, and scintillation. In terms of clarity, Russell also talked to us about how a diamond with very slight or slight inclusions can still be “eye clean” so black carbon spots are not visible to the naked eye. He said it may take some time to find a diamond like this, which is why it’s also important to see your diamond in person before purchasing.

Given the information we got from Russell, we decided that cut and carat were the most important Cs to us, and we were willing to sacrifice a little more in terms of color and clarity. We found the perfect (for us) round brilliant cut diamond for the ring of my dreams. Soon after,?Mr. Eel?began working with Russell to design a Tacori inspired ring based on what I liked. The result is the most beautiful engagement ring I have ever seen, and I am so lucky to be its owner!

Did you participate in the ring-buying process? What kind of engagement ring do you have? Are you as terrible as I am at taking ring pictures?
